Why the Time is Now to Sell Your Home

Many people are still taking their time to consider selling their home. Prices fluctuate, qualifying for mortgages can be difficult, interest rates are too high or just right. These concerns people have are all very reasonable. But, there are also good reasons why selling your home is the right thing to do, right now.

1. Need is High
Real estate is like making brownies. For every 1/4 cup of water, you need 2/3 cups of olive oil, says the back of a Betty Crocker box. And like buying a house, for every seller, a buyer (or a couple of buyers) should suffice. Currently in the real estate market, there is a high demand for sellers due to the huge amount of people wanting to buy that could not or did not buy in the winter months, according to the National Association of Realtors. These buyers are on the prowl once again and looking for their future homes.

2. Nonexistent Competitors
Real estate is like a roller coaster. Equity and prices continue to increase and decrease, and will continue to do so whenever you think about buying/selling a house. Nonetheless, housing markets are currently at a slow rise (like that first initial build up of the drop in a roller coaster). Right now, there is not much demand for selling, but once people realize they want to/should sell their home, the competition will be much higher. New developments of homes, like single-family homes for example, are also on the rise. What does this mean? More houses need to be sold and more competition against you trying to sell your home.

3. Quicker Process
Real estate is like the beginning of an academic year. The first few weeks of school, students and teachers both do not have much work to take care of. But come half to three quarters of the way through the year until the end, the work load is through the roof. Like this, banks, agent offices, and even loan companies have loads of paperwork that must get done for approving a mortgage on a house. Contracts get larger and heavier with each new buyer and seller and interest in a home. Don’t let your paperwork for your home become a needle in a haystack of other paperwork for other homes.

4. Moving On Up
Real estate is like aging. Unfortunately, the older you get, the harder it is to maintain your health. And like homes, the bigger house you want to buy, the more expensive it will be. The increase of home prices from now to the year 2018 is expected to increase by 19%. This will also lead to an increase of your down payment and your mortgage payment. Along with those, interest rates are going to increase, and are subjected to by above 5% by the end of next year compared to the low fours right now. If you want to move up without moving up all of your payments, sell and buy right now!

5. Your time is Now
In the end, real estate is real estate. We can compare it to many things and look at the positives and negatives of each circumstance. But you cannot compare it to what you and your family truly want and/or need. Yes, money does not grow on trees. Yes, moving is one big pain in the butt. Yes, prices can get better or may get worse. Yes, settling into a new area can be difficult. But that is change! Getting what you really want requires change. And if selling your home and buying a more fitting one is what you really want or need and will make you and your family happy, well then change is going to become your new best friend. And where will change take you? It’ll take you to that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that is you, your new home, and your happy family.
