Trulia’s Rent vs. Buy Index Reveals Trend Towards Homeownership in Four in Five Major U.S. Cities: Ventura Real Estate

We released our Q2 2011 Rent vs. Buy Index today, which found that buying a home has become more affordable than renting in nearly four out of five (80%) major cities since last quarter; only in New York, Fort Worth and Kansas City was renting a less costly option than buying.

As noted in the video, coastal areas don’t always track with other trends. Since Ventura is coastal, this is true to an extent. The video does say that in coastal areas it may make sense to buy if you are able, regardless of the trend. We have seen some amazing deals come on the market in our local Ventura California area.
